Two shelves, two heights
Fit two, set them at different heights in the same corner, and each person in the shower gets one. Zvelt explicitly suggests fitting more than one to cover a whole shower, and the short size is the one that suits it, since two short shelves separate what one long shelf mixes together, your height and your bottles. Fitting one here and one in another shower elsewhere in the house works just as well.
At 4 × 8 in, this is the short format of Zvelt’s two corner shelves, eight inches long where the 4 × 12 gives you twelve, at the same depth and the same plate thickness. It takes the corner without filling it. That suits a narrow shower, or a stall where the door swings close to the wall, and at hand height it carries soap and a razor while most of the storage stays somewhere else. Should one shelf have to hold everything, two tall bottles and a bar of soap included, order the 4 × 12 in instead.
Eight inches, seven finishes, one caveat

- Plate 0.16 in (4 mm) thick, fixing tab 1/16 in (1.49 mm)
- Minimum tile joint: 1/16 in (1.5 mm) and up
- Material by finish: aluminum on the four powder-coated finishes, brushed stainless steel on the stainless finish, PVD over brushed stainless steel on the two PVD finishes
Seven finishes, the same range as the 4 × 12. Brushed stainless steel, matte black, matte white, glossy white, matte grey, black PVD and gold PVD. There is no mirror finish. At 8 in the shelf stays a detail. Matte black sinks into dark tile, gold PVD announces itself at once. Where two or three go up together, matching the finish to the tapware works better than matching it to the tile, which is what makes them read as a deliberate set rather than three separate additions.
The manufacturer’s warranty covers manufacturing defects. No term is printed for this shelf, neither on the data sheet nor on the instruction sheets, so ask Zvelt to confirm it before you order. Zvelt is a Quebec manufacturer, based in Boucherville.
Raking out the joint
The usual case for this size is tile that is already up. Shift your marks 0.20 in (5 mm) toward the corner, rake the joint over the length of the tab, and that’s it. Eight inches of joint opened instead of twelve, in tile you would rather not damage. Zvelt also publishes a sheet for fitting while the tile goes up, and there you leave a grout-free zone of 0.5 in (12 mm) for the tab, grouting over it afterwards.
If you are fitting several, lay out every position before the first joint is opened, because across a run what the eye catches is shelf-to-shelf alignment, never the absolute height. Nothing is framed, nothing is tiled. Adding one more six months later is still half a day’s work for a tile setter, not a bathroom renovation.
Waterproofing. The instruction sheets cover thin-set, grout and silicone only. Compatibility with a waterproofing membrane is not documented, the same caveat as on the 4 × 12. Have Zvelt and the membrane manufacturer confirm it if the shower is built on a warranted system.

Clean and rinse with clean water after each use.
- Prolonged contact (30 days or more) with cleaning products (soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc.) may damage the niche's finish and void the warranty if recommended maintenance is not followed.
- Direct contact with rust-prone metal containers or objects may damage stainless steel, paint, or PVD finish.
Maintenance guide
- Use a damp cloth with mild soap.
- Rinse with clean water after each use.
- Do not use abrasive tools or products.
- Wipe off excess water with a microfiber cloth.
Zvelt Product Warranty:
***The finish warranty will not be applicable if the product is not rinsed and wiped on a regular basis as mentioned in the maintenance guide.
-2 years for paint coating and brushed stainless steel finish.

Zvelt warrants that, subject to the terms and conditions described below, the product sold conforms to its specifications and that at the time of sale, the product is free from any defects and/or manufacturing faults.
Zvelt cannot be held liable for direct or indirect damages caused or resulting from fortuitous events, labor costs, miscellaneous expenses, loss of time, materials or other costs relating to the application or replacement of the product or any of its components.
In the event that a manufacturing defect occurs, the purchaser-user must present proof of purchase and have followed the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Zvelt may, at its sole discretion, replace the product pro rata to the then-current price. Zvelt reserves the right to have the defect inspected on-site by a representative of its choice.
This warranty excludes any costs related to travel, installation and/or uninstallation costs and transportation costs.
This warranty does not cover breakages or defects resulting from accidents, disasters, Acts of God, intense temperature variations, exposure to chemicals, abrasives of any kind or stains caused by different types of water (alkaline water or ferrous water).
This warranty does not cover breakages or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, improper installation, removal or addition of parts or equipment.
The warranty is only valid if the user has followed the recommendations in the "Maintenance Guide" for Zvelt kennels and other products. This documentation included in this document is also available on the website www.zvelt.ca
